As far as the Dictionary meaning is concerned the word 'BLITZKRIEG' means 'A swift and violent military offensive with intensive aerial bombardment'.
...a form of warfare used by the Germans in World War II..a 'lightening force'..
The group came into existence in the even semester in the year 2007..D likeminded approach of a few talented dancers n d urge to start something new,something which people hadn't witnessed earlier was what led to the emergence of this group..For those friends of mine who aren't aware this group was started by Aditya Gupta,Arjit Anand n Pragya Das(present 3rd year students) n joined by Ankita Sati,Rahul Gautam,Saurav Das,Dhara Doshi and a few other talented dancers..Putting together a group with the basic intention of coming out with something innovative requires a lot of determination and grit and of course loads of guts..n I opine my seniors did a marvelous job..They performed in Revels 2007 n bagged d 3rd position,2nd in d college only to The Showstoppers..D first position was bagged by some group from some other college..
I still remember the first day I met these people..Auditions were being held for the fresh batch of students(in the year 2007)..I turned up..was selected n thus became a member of this group..was guided a lot by my seniors..particularly by Aditya Sir,Arjit Sir n Pragya Ma'am..w.r.t. the events in d college n more so by means of encouragement and appreciation..
I remember people asking me as to y I joined Blitzkrieg n not The Showstoppers (a more prominent one..according to ppl)..I had seen d Showstoppers performing and as mentioned in my previous post have always had a decent amount of admiration for them..but what I honestly felt was d group was already d best n had been performing consistently since d last few years..merely joining d grp dat was already famous n winning accolades n appreciation wasn't something dat would have given me a sense of fulfilment and contentment..Rather,I wanted my presence and hardwork to make a difference 2 a lesser known group(then)so as to bring them to desired level to compete with the best group in d college..dat is wat I had always envisioned for my group..n I believed for sure dat if I was sincere in my efforts d change was sure to come.
We competed with the best,defeated the best...won the hearts of not only the judges but also,more importantly,those of the audience who unanimously thought we outdid d stalwarts in areas of concept,choreography n co-ordination..there wasn't a single person in the crowd who thought otherwise..such was d form of attack BLITZKRIEG unleashed on its competitors..wats commendable is dat we always considered maintaining a healthy spirit n not indulge in any sort of foulplay whatsoever..Our basic aim was n will always be to perform n win d hearts of those who come to see us perform..
Personally,it was a very special moment..this achievement..because I wanted to give my seniors this present--the awesome feeling of being the best--as for most of them this was d last performance in the college..and indeed it gave me immense satisfaction!
